When I first started my land surveying business I would fall all over myself when a realtor would ask for a favor and promise me all their business if I came through. Now when they pull that stunt I laugh in their face and tell them I have never met a realtor that was good on their promise. I blow them off and not do the favor.
Most unprofessional profession there is. Hookers have more ethics.
