Hello,

This is not a Porsche question, but this is the only place that I know where to talk with engine rebuilder experts...

I just finished rebuilding my 1500cc, 4 cilinders MG Midget engine (1978, carburated, electronic ignition).

I started the engine yesterday for the first time after the rebuild (new pistons, rebore, rebalance, new cam, head job, new oil pump).... and it is not running right.

basically the problem is that it runs OK at 40° advance, but sputters and stops when I put the ignition at 20° or less...

As far as I know, the cam timing is setup properly, and I have the fiering order ok.

any idea where to look for an answer?
