Just got back from the Denver Auto Show, going on through Sunday. I was really dismayed to see the low quality of the Porsche displays and the location. They were in a corner by the edge of the carpet in front of the restrooms, far away from all the action and excitement. This was pathetic. Here are some pics.
Now, look at the following pic and notice all of the huge, tall, majestic marquees reaching for the sky for all the other car manufacturers:
And look at the pathetic little sign Porsche put up, right in front of the public restrooms in the ass end of the building:
The other marques - VW, MB, BMW, Audi - all had multiple reps answering questions and beautiful models walking around with brochures and a nice desk area. What did Porsche have? One guy sitting in a chair, not mingling with people, looking like he'd rather be anywhere but here. It took me about 15 seconds of staring before I even realized he was working there.
There were:
2 Cayennes
2 Boxsters
1 Cayman
3 Carreras
So Porsche rents the cheapest area in the place and doesn't even bother to arrange the cars in an attractive way. They were just placed randomly in the space with a cheap-looking sign. I'm really disappointed. They were easily the LEAST inspiring display in the entire show.
Thanks again, Porsche. Best of luck in the future.
