My expereince has often been just the opposite. the dealer parts guys are enthusiastic, and the parts can be had -- like the seat belt mounts for the '72/73 911. Porsche not too long ago ran a stamping of 356 noses. They still make runs of Fuchs...
I can't think of any other car company that makes the effort Porsche does to support owners of their marque.
