The tighter tolerance 914 bushings are just shift coupler bushings for a 914, which have circular holes and not elongate holes, which reduces the fore/aft play in the shifter significantly. In theory, they would not (significantly) improve side radial slop over good condition stock 911 bushings. I'm not sure you can even buy the 911 bushings anymore, but Pelican most definately carries the 914 pieces.
