Interesting.
From the pictures, it looks like it's beyond salvagable. I did a bit of checking, and it looks like a 55, but I'm not sure about the dash and gauges. It was my understanding that the painted dash, without leather padding, was already introduced in the pre-A models, but I can't find proof of that.
55s are interesting models, because it was one of those inbetween years, where the factory was slowly "morphing" over to the new design.
