From your description you appear to be working on a bracket such as the one shown below.
To remove the compressor one has remove the three screws (item 11) securing the sliding plate (item 16); one of these screws is behind the compressor (car front side) and points downward. In addition, you'll need to slacken the belt tension by loosening a nut (item 14). As you can see, the compressor is secured with four screws (item 17) from underneath the sliding plate. Is there any pressure in the system; if you are disconnecting A/C lines you need to have the system emptied of refrigerant. High pressure refrigerant can maim or blind you -wear safety goggles!
The strut (item 3) is difficult to remove from the console (item 2) with the engine in the car. There is also a strut (item 8) attached to a chain case mounting stud using a special stepped nut (item 10 - $24 from Porsche to replace).
