Cats, like many other animals (including humans) are extremely territorial. That doesn't justify brutally killing it, just run it off and show it that it's territory doesn't include yours. That's all it takes.

Couldn't agree more... How many of you suggesting killing could look a 6 year old girl in the eye & lie when she comes to your door asking if you've seen her lost kitty? It's cat breeding season, you dolts! If this cat has an owner, somebody should educate him on the value of neutering. We once had a neighbor's cat causing problems around here. Had a chat with the neighbor, discovered he'd been on unemployment for months.
We took his cat to the vet on our nickle, problem solved. Sheesh!
