In reality the only difference between this Administration and anyother Post WW2 administration is that we just don't givem the REACH AROUND anymore, that used to make others at least feel good about themselves while they were being fked......

For better or worse, Theodore, your friend is correct. As Americans we should put America first - in all situations. Putting America first is not something another country like France or Iran would not do for themselves, so I think like-minded thought is applicable in what is otherwise a hostile world for the U.S.
However, where you falter is in your comparison of that theory to the current administration is in your thought that their actions are being endeavored with America's interests in mind.
Hour by hour almost, we find that Iraq has not been conducted with America's best interests in mind. Wiretapping, Homeland Security, a pandemic throughout the U.S. of fear and wariness of each other - I can't say that - the lion's share which has been established by the current administration - is exactly in the best interest of all Americans.
I imagine the big question (at least for me) when reading your remarks is whose "America" is the WH's "agenda" putting "First"?
