I was actually thinking more along the lines of identity theft. I would think it's a TON easier for some computer geek to sit at home and surf around for a plate number instead of driving around for something. Then they find out your info and somehow use this information to gather more information until they are able to buy stuff on your credit. I wouldn't think they are driving around trying to write down numbers to scam later with. They could but I don't think it is as likely as just surfing the net. Either way identity theft is on the rise.

If you drive your car 3-5000 miles a year only a few people are really going to see it or pay attention to it. You post it on-line thousands if not millions could see it. All I'm saying is there is a lot higher chance on-line for someone to steal your id...

Maybe I'm just paranoid. But why chance it?
