You are dead right that, "nobody cares but car fanatics". That's why I love the film. It's a classic, perhaps even a *cult* classic. In this day of over-produced movie spectaculars, Le Mans will shine ever brighter. I'm glad in McQueen's short life, he was able to realize his dream.
