The Porsche seat is thicker (ie taller) than most office chairs. If you mount the base to the bottom of the seat then it sits too high - even in the lowest position.
I used two pieces of steel going across and mounted them directly to the factory holes. The base plate that would mount to the bottom of the office chair is mounted on top of the bars, up inside the seat base. Spacers result on a lower position. There's no tilt for the base, so I used different sized spacers to get the angle I wanted.
