Springtime!
A false snow report threw salt on the roads a few weeks ago, and therefore my car rested again for a few days. It caused me to get a twitch and and itch and look longingly at all those other new sporty cars driving around freely. I almost lost the faith.....
But then last week, spring finally showed up here in Chicago, so of course I took the kids to the Dairy Queen one evening. My daughter (9), her friend and my son (4) screamed and whooped and giggled and stuck their hands up out of the targa-less top. They gleefully anticipated every corner (even though the engine was cold and I was driving calmly, honey, I promise).....basically, we all had a great time, and I was a child again. There is something about the stiffness, the whomping/whooshing air-cooled engine, the wind in your hair, the feeling of real motion, that just doesn't occur in a minivan or SUV with the windows up and the climate control on.
It felt good, and I understand again.....
