A suggestion alternative for I35 from Dallas. Take 67 out of Dallas thru Cleburne to Glen Rose. Out of Glen Rose there's a turn into Hico,don't know the name so stop and ask.Take 281 south out of Hico to San Antonio. Many small towns so pay attention to speed. Long sweepers great vistas. Watch the local pick ups, their not always paying attention. DO NOT drive it at night. Deer can seriously damper the experience and their everywhere. Great drive one of my favorites. Enjoy!
