Doing it right now. i have two E30's one of which I purchased at a auction, and was the subject of a bottle jax under the oil pan by the previous owner. It went straight threw the pan and broke the pump in half.

Just take the two nuts off for the engine mounts and use the front hook on the engine, pop off the plastic shroud on the ratiator, and let it hang on the fan, then lift the front of the motor up about 6 inches, and it gives you plenty of room... This project reminbed me of why I hate water pumpers..... I can have the whole engine and tranny out of the 911 in half the time it took to take this pan off...
