Tony,

Many will tell you that they have sucessfully lifted the rear of their car via the seam on the engine (near the sump plate).

Personally, it makes no sense to me to lift you car via it's single most expensive component when there are safer alternatives. To lift the rear end I use the factory lift points and put jackstands on the Torsion Bar covers or T-Bar Tubes.

But then again, your car, your money, your choice.
