It IS good to be honest but nowhere in your entire diatribe did you offer a constructive solution to the problem. If you REALLY want a manager to listen to you, propose a solution and how it will effectively work with the time, budget and technical constraints THEY are faced with.
If they don't listen to THAT (on the basis of ego, whatever) then it's perfectly appropriate to go over their head or pull attitude - not before (my $0.02).
If it were my company I'd have given you 15 seconds to explain how you'd rectify the problem. If you explained in a decent manner, I'd ask you to implement your solution and hold you accountable for its working. If you couldn't answer as to how you'd do it, your ass would be out the door so fast your head would still be in the conference room wondering where your lower half went.
Solutions have a place in a business/professional setting. B*tch fests and personal politicking do not. I don't tolerate either.
