Windshield "film" won't clean off. What works?
I was in a hurry and took my 968 in to have the microscratches buffed out...the detailer guy at the dealer went the extra mile (that I'd not asked him to) and rather than put canauba wax on like he said...put some sort of "plastic coating?" on the paint giving it a glossy look and FILLING up the scratches but not removing them.
UNFORTUNATELY, this stuff seeped down over my windshield in the rain and put a whitish film on the windscreen that I can't get off...and nothing seems to remove it...window cleaner, acetone, paint thinner, laquer thinner, paint remover, 0000 steel wool....I give up. I will take it back to dealer on Monday. I hope he has the magic bullet and I don't need a new windshield (and other glass!).
Does anyone know what he might have done...and what might take the film off my windshield? Short of replacing it?
Thanks,
Harvey
