I was offered a position with Sprint NEXTEL in Saint Paul today and I accepted. I start in three weeks. I am quite happy to be going to work for a great telephone company (Sprint= no union, no “little black book” and oh so much better than the bell) as an employee. (I have worked as a contractor for many telcos over the years)

While I start looking for a place up there, I thought I would ask if any Pelicans are from the Saint Paul area. I am looking for an area that is not too expensive at first but is also not a terrible part of town. Is the area really as expensive as I have been hearing? (Besides having the 6th highest tax rate in the US)
