Performance products (truck catalog) sells those extensions. Have a look and you could get a design easily enough. Dumb question but, what is the width of a bare shell? Would it fit "inside" the box? Even if you can only sit it on top of the wheel wells you could use 2X8s (or 2X10)standing on their sides as joists. If they were 8 footers that would support the whole thing. Put blocking between them to keep them from falling over. When you are done use the 2X8s to build a nice work shop for your newly acquired project.
