For those coming from the San Fernando or Santa Clarita Valleys, another route home is to go the back way through Victorville and Pearblossom. The road down the mountain is generally pretty clear of traffic, and there are some great "twisties," too. And, the drive west through the desert is much nicer than going along the (usually very crowded) 10 freeway.
