The Feds have been wiretapping me for years. They want my strawberry shortcake recipe. I'll never give it up...never.
Well, OK. Just don't tell anyone... Shhhhh!
Divide fresh strawberries into two groups, the best looking ones you slice and set aside. The uglier ones you put in a bowl and mix with vanilla ice cream. Use a potato masher to make a beautiful pulpy strawberry sauce.
The shortcake is simply Bisquick mixed with some sugar and more milk than usual. (Soft dough), then dropped onto a baking sheet. Do not roll it out.
Put the baked shortbread in the bottom of a BIG bowl. Put a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. Cover it with your crushed strawberry sauce then top it with sliced strawberries. Oh yeah, baby!
