I had a similar problem. I shipped a part in December to London. Guy sez it never arrived, yada yada yada. In late March, the package arrives on my doorstep, battered and bruised. One of the stickers on the box said delivery was attempted; it was going to a business, so there would have been someone there to take it.
It was insured, but USPS told me that once it left the US, it was tough titty for me, and I'd have to take it up with the Brits.
