$20k. Yes, it's a lot, BUT I found a one-owner immaculate inside-and-out '83 with 58,000 miles, already had the tensioner upgrade done. I wanted an SC because of the 3.0L 'bulletproof' engine. It was FAR nicer than some newer Carreras I had seen, I haven't regretted the cost one bit. Other cars come and go but this one they'll have to pry from my cold dead hands.
Since I got it: new lugnuts, repainted the wheels, H4 Euro headlights with pedestrian bulbs wired up, new clutch, 930S steering wheel, new speakers/indash CD, turbo tierods, R134A conversion (all but barrier hoses which are going to happen this summer), Lloyd mats,rear 'deck' (over folded down seatbacks) mat from R&S, gutted the catalyst, Dansk exhaust... all a labor of love.
