No electrical, nothing, nada

I start this thread a few days ago on the notaclub and continue to have the problem. The electrical dies, nothing, no lights, radio, flasher, courtesy light, nothing. Happened again after returning from a suspension test run and died in the garage, conveniently and has not returned.

I checked the battery, it's a new optima, thought it might be defective, 12.66 volts by the meter. Slid under the car and attached a test light to the transmission and big hot lead on the starter, got a solid light.

I'm ready to get an ignition switch, although it seems some things would still work. Anyway, is the OEM worth the extra bucks over the aftermarket? I don't mind the money if it's for a better product, don't want this happening again anytime soon.

thanks
Les
