Your symptoms are identical to the ones I had when I bought my race car. After looking at everything, I discovered that it was cracks in the S shaped boot. They were down in the pleats. I searched thorughout the United States and Europe for a new boot. I even talked to Porsche in Germany. The last boot made went to Molnar Brothers in Ventura, CA who put it on a customer's car. (go figure, that's where I live, they are just down the street)
I ended up on this list because I got a very good used one from Cap'n Krusty to whom I am forever indebted.
I looked into having them reproduced and have never gotten a satisfactory answer but that will have to be done at some time in the future.
Check the samba and evil bay they occasionally show up there but don't expect them to be cheap. The last used one I saw advertised was $60.00 plus shipping
