Our IT person, who specializes in Macs, suggested us to
not buy the new Intel Mac machines yet as very little software has been ported for the Intel/Power PC core.
She says that as is, current Apple and/or PC ported software will run on average 50%
slower on the Intel Macs than on conventional Macs.
I asked her about timelines as to when certain software that we use - Adobe and Microsoft - might be ready to work with the new Intel Macs, and she did not, as of now, know.
I'm just passing this tidbit of information along.
