Sounds like an electrical problem of some kind. I had a bad fuel pump wire once that would kill the motor dead while driving. Usually I could "bump start" it as it was coasting after it died, and it would come back. Took quite a while to chase that one down, though...

Keep checking the electrical stuff. Loose or broken wires can cause all sorts of weird intermittent problems. Try wiggling different wires while the engine is running and see if any one in particular will kill it.

Also check things like the battery connections. And, of course, your grounds.
