This old gal will be restored and hopefully will fly again. What is missing or damaged will be handmade by someone and eventually it will fly again. Just not enough of the old WW2 birds around so they are getting very expensive.

One problem is that in many cases when someone finds an old WW2 bird, the govt tries to step in and reclaim it. The US Navy is the worst. If someone finds a plane that went in the water and raises it to the surface then starts to restore it, they step in and say that they never signed the paperwork over to it and they want it back.

Recently at least one person took them to court and won the case, so saving some of these old birds may start happening again.
