I've mulled this over so many times....power forward or raise the white flag....see white flag

. I started this endeavor when I was much less busy at work and in life and a recent re-priortization is forcing a sale of all things Porsche.
The basics:
1970 911E Targa, all original and complete
Original motor with MFI
S options including sway bars and brakes
The good:
Runs, can be driven on and off a trailer, in and out of the garage, etc.
No structural rust. Surface rust was repaired before painting
Body and paint done in original color
Interior pretty good. Dash recovered and crack free.
Trans and clutch feel good
The bad:
Disassembled/test fitted
Motor leaks at the valve covers and creates a lot of smoke
Needs help at startup (aka starting fluid)
Sometimes revs fine, sometimes does not want to rev over 1500 rpm.
What would something like this be worth? I saw a 70-71E with a bad motor and lousy paint go for $6500 locally. This should be worth more than that, right?
I have a stash of parts for this car that I am thinking of selling separately. What do you think the following is worth:
NOS 2.2E Mahle Biral Pistons & Cylinders
Complete set of redone E valves/heads
2.7 CIS Engine, ran well before removed and was showing approx 90k on odometer. Was going to use this as a temp engine w/carbs
Any feedback is appreciated.
