Oh yeah, I've been to Flints. For those that are unaware, Flints is a fantastic rib joint in a nasty part of Oakland. Take-out from the suburbs requires a driver and a runner. If you go after dark, the driver keeps the motor running while the runner picks up the BBQ. There's a mean little black woman behind the counter working a cleaver who won't take any crap from anybody. Flints is great, but I haven't been there in years.
Bo's is on Mt. Diablo Blvd in Lafayette. Better BBQ, more expensive, less dangerous. Bo's prices are truly obscene, but when I'm hurtin' for some Q, I'm not thinking of the price. The combo plate is amazing; Ribs, links and that heavenly brisket.
