Maybe we all missed it, but the real thanks (or blame) for the airing of these shows goes to the ACLU. Yep, the lawyers did it.
Over the past 15 years there have been too many law suits to count claiming discrimination because certain minorities are under-represented on television. What they failed to mention was that television programming was supposed to attract the most viewers, hence catering to the majority. In other words, MOST PEOPLE DIDN'T WANT TO WATCH THAT STUFF.

Take a look at local LA news programs. An asian gentleman and a black woman are anchoring, a latina is preseting from the field and another latina is presenting the weather.
Occasionally they will include a white male, but he is usually reporting about a snow storm in Big Bear or a flash flood in Malibu.

Why is it like this? Minorities sued (with the help of the anti-christ ACLU) so now the stations have to satisfy the minority, not the majority. Unfortunately they failed to realize that in Los Angeles, white is the new minority.
