FWIW - we drove a rental '05 Mustang convertible last July when on vacation. It had under 3000 miles on it when we picked it up, I know rental miles, but....
Interior Trunk trim was seperated from the body, clips inact, tried to put it back in place wouldn't stay.
Got maybe 20-22 mpg in mixed highway secondary roads in and around Monterey.
Convertible top action operation was okay at best, the way action between the side windows, rear quarter windows and top was just weird.
Quality of plastic trim was awful. Lots of creaking and rattles.
Steering wheel texture was waayyy too rough.
Steering was vague, at best.
