That just happened to me yesterday. I had to lock it from the passenger side. Today I was playing around and hit the lock button on the center console before I got out of the car. Don't know if it had anything to do with it but I got out and was able to lock it from the drivers side again.
Maybe it was a fluke and the problem will show up again
I don't know. Maybe someone can enlighten us both.
