Except for a few whackos here and there, I think the problem is the difficulty people have separating the war from the people who are fighting it. I cannot think of anyone I know personally that wishesharm to any uniformed person.
The individual soldier, marine, and all the others, placed in a difficult situation, do the best they can, living in a pressure cooker. Give the average American both in and out of uniform the benefit of the doubt. Very few people hate the military, quite a few have negative feelings about war.
