You may find it a ''challenge' to drill the cvj..its extremely hardened steel!
If you check the tables, you
may find that the four 10mm 12.2nm bolts provides more clamping pressure then six 8mm do, surprisingly...and the Spirols are a significant bonus..
The later set up was probably financial rather than engineering decision.
Like most stuff at Porsche after about 1973...
