they had a beater old tour bus that was broken down out side the venue, but the chico chicks were all over them. i think they may have had sex that night. i know i did not.
Wow, Toby, thanks for bringing back old memories! While I wasn't at the Chili Pepper's show at The Blue Max, I did get the opportunity to see Nirvana (two guitar lineup, Bleach tour), Primus (a couple of times), Big Head Todd, Mary's Danish, and countless other bands at that tiny little dive. I've played there more times than I can count, with the highlight (or lowlight) of opening for the Beat Farmers. (Lowlight being that Country Dick Montana got beat up at the gas station across the street, right after the show )

As far as the Chili Peppers go, I never cared for them while growing up in SoCal. To me, they were indeed a frat boy band (through no fault of their own), and seemed to ride the first (or second, or third) wave of alternative/college rock in the late '80's straight to the top.

These days, I find myself actually liking the stuff I hear on the radio.

Maybe I'm getting old.

Maybe I'll have to check out the new album.
