I hate to do this, but having seen the movie a few times, I also hate this misquote.
The quote is from the film
The Treasure of the Sierra Madre with Humphrey Bogart - in which the bandit leader is asked by Bogart, "...where are your badges?" His reply is, "
Badges!? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges! I don't have to show you any stinking badges!!"
But alas, even this is a departure from the book version.
