Wayne (and others here) pretty much hit it on the head. My father, now in his 51st year as a VW dealer, told the boys in Deutschland that an $80K VW would not sell. VW owns Audi, so sell them there. Lexus' raison d'etre it to sell expensive Toyotas. Simple. (Or is it Lexus-Nissan and Toyota-Infiniti? I don't know my ricers, but you get the point.)
