My bet is fried video. Have you tried hooking up an external monitor to it? If you need to save the drive, you can get a 2.5" drive USB enclosure. Drop your laptop drive into it and access it via a desktop system.... To troubleshoot further, whether it's video or not, try to download a bootable copy of Knoppix (Linux). You can boot from that and examine your system.
