Ahhh...but the interesting thing here is that they have used motor racing to improve the percetion of their cars, as well as cross pollination of inventive and class leading innovation. (And honestly, if you live in areas of incliment weather, it's hard to argue that there is a better vehicle for all around goodnes than the S4 or some of the other S cars.)
You might not like the cars that result, a matter of taste, but you can't fault the cars dynamically.
Ironically, or is it more the point (?), Audis broad based lineup, with none of Porsches racing links, have allowed them to spend such enormous sums, and yeild beneficial results form the money spent.
When Porsche tried to expand the lineup (Cayenne), everyone *****ed, moaned, and called them a sell out.
