I heard during the Le Mans coverage, that Audi had tested the R10 18,000 miles in preparation of Le Mans. I'm sure little independent Herni Pescarolo didn't have the money to do that and yet, he only finished 4 laps down. Even the commentators were impressed.
Even more interesting is that a Panoz won in GT2 in a last hour battle with the Fahnbacher-Loles Porsche. While I love the Porsche marque, having different makes compete and win is what draws more people to the sport.
