Good question, but I'd say probably not. What's the duration of the warranty? With a Porsche, I'm guessing you'll run out the clock on it before you run out the mileage. How often do you have something worth several thousand go in the first couple years? That's not necessarily a rhetorical question, though. I've never owned a Porsche from new.
I guess if you drive it home so you put a few thousand kms on it, maybe that'll get you through most of the break-in period, and if something goes while you're still in the US, you'd be covered by the warranty.
