thin metal cars are real easy to check without measuring anything:
put your index finger in the middle of the roof and push down- a production thickness car will just budge a little- a thin metal car will pop in
Test # 2: then lift the hood- with your fingers and thumb you can twist the trunk panel behind the gas tank (where the i.d. vin is located) up and down
