Joining a Doctor for a cup of coffee of cleaning up after him is not exactly the same as "studying with him."
Clearly if he is an Epidemiologist...he would only study the smallest third of WMD, the bio piece...not the Chem or Nuclear.
I have to agree with Nat's dad...your military experiences sure seem strange compared to mine. Could the Army or the Nat'l Guard just be that far behind?
