Interesting point. IMO it’s for the same reason that some people blame anyone other than themselves for their failures, and it’s easier to blame a group. Just read the board. It could be a perfect world if we didn’t have immigrants, blacks, liberals, conservatives, Muslims, Christians, whatever.
Individual hate is pretty common, too. How often do you hear, “I would be happy if it weren’t for my (spouse, boss, job, location etc.)
To be kind, I could call people who believe this to be provincial. Or drop the hypocrisy and call them stupid.
