I, too, trust within reason OUR justice system (been on 4 juries). However, I was trying to look at it through the eyes of someone with no working system.
What can be said about our justice system?
Justice is blind, sometimes deaf and mute as well. Not everyone can hire a Johnny Cochran, making the system different for different economic classes. Look at sentences for different individuals and it is obvious that economics and social status play a role.
Like I said, I trust the system within reason.
Judges neutral? They are human beings with built-in biases.
Participation? Like I said, have sat on 4 juries.
