I'll admit that I've never been a massive Led Zep fan...I always considered Jimmy Page to write great hooks but preferred Clapton or Hendrix or Allman or Beck for pure guitar playing. But I was searching through my library for a tune that stuck in my head (The Rover...why is it that I know every Led Zep song but don't know any of the titles?!?), and was just shocked by how many great, memorable songs they created. Maybe its just because growing up in San Diego in the 70's they were on the radio in heavy rotation, but I have the boxed set (4 discs) and damned if pretty much *every* song on there got airplay and has a totally great riff. I don't know of any other band with that kind of reach. The Beatles maybe, but that was a slightly different era...

Am I off-base?
