Kind of like another thread about celebrities.....Why do people dote so much on animals and treat them like humans?
I love animals, have been involved with the Humane Society and animal rescue, but still do not understand the fixation. In our neighborhood, there are far to many dogs, the weather here is very warm in the summer, some are left out in all weather, and bark incessantly because they are frightened, lonely, bored, thirsty or in a good degree of discomfort. And all we see on TV is "adopt an animal" ads by shelters, and investigating the situation, I was informed it is not the responsibility of these agencies to check up after the animal is "placed".
