Yes it is. I keep my iPhoto and Itunes libraries sync'd between the mac and our laptop pc. I had them connected via wireless but that was taking too long so I bought a cat 6 crossover cable and it only took a few minutes to dump 50Gb of files. XP and OSX play nice together. I much prefer OS X as an OS, though.
